A terrible case of caste atrocity has emerged from Irayur village in Tamilnadu, where a human stool has found from a 10,000- liter water tank. The tank was used by Dalit community of around 100 people for drinking purpose. Pudukottai collector Kavitha Ramu and district police chief Vandita Pandey visited Irayur Village on Tuesday. The police has not found the culprits so far.

A huge quantity of feces was found dumped inside the water tank. So much so the water had turned yellow. Without knowing that, for a week or so, the people were drinking this water. When children fell ill– that’s when the truth came out,” said Moksha Gunavalagan, a local political activist.

“When the young men climbed the tank, they found the lid open… No one has reported seeing anyone climb and dump the waste into the water tank,” collector Kavitha Ramu told NDTV.

The Madras High court in Madurai, Tamilnadu has seeked the report from Puthukootai Collector and SP. Also the HC court ordered an investigation about the caste discrimination in the Pudukottai district.

Caste atrocities has been manifested throughout Tamilnadu overtly and covertly. This incident is much severe attack against the Dalit community.
