Gaza Journalist Wael Al Dahdouh Honored as Kerala’s “Media Person of the Year”

Kochi: The Kerala Media Academy has awarded Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau chief Wael Al Dahdouh ‘Media Person of the Year’ award for bringing Zionist atrocities in Gaza to the world’s attention. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will present the award to Dahdouh, which includes a cash prize of one lakh rupees, a certificate and a sculpture. Dahdouh, currently in Qatar for treatment after being injured in a Zionist attack, said he is honored to receive this recognition from Kerala.

On October 28, eight of Dahdouh’s family members, including his wife, 15-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter, were killed in an Zionist attack on the Nusairat refugee camp. Recently, another journalist’s son was also killed in the genocide. Dahdouh brought the Zionist genocide in Gaza to the world through his reporting for Al Jazeera. He was praised globally for continuing to report live on the air even as his own family was killed in the Zionist attacks.
