In a recent incident, Maulvi Shaukat Ali, the director of Future Track Coaching Institute, was arrested for allegedly organizing a congregational namaz (prayer) within the premises of his institute in Gaziabad, UP. Sub Inspector Prem Singh, who was on patrol duty, reported the incident and lodged an FIR against Mr. Ali under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153A and 505.

The charges filed against Mr. Ali highlight potential violations of IPC sections 153A, which deals with promoting enmity between different religious groups, and 505, which pertains to making statements that incite public mischief.

This incident raises concerns about the treatment of minority communities in India, particularly the Muslim population. It is important to note that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently embarked on a visit to the United States, during which he emphasized India’s status as the world’s largest democracy. In his speech, he highlighted the democratic values that form the foundation of Indian society. However, these recent events, such as the arrest of Mr. Ali, bring into question the actual reality faced by minority communities on a day-to-day basis.
